LG is all set to infuse into already competitive Indian smartphone market its two new smartphones. LG is holding a press event today in Mumbai and an announcement for at least one of the smartphones is expected. Both smartphones are expected to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher.
LG Optimus 4X HD is a high end device from LG with 720p HD display. It has got NVIDIA’s 4-PLUS-1 Quad Core 1.5 GHz mobile processor Tegra 3 with low power GeForce graphic chip. It features a 4.7 inch true HD touchscreen display with an impressive 1280 x 780 pixel native resolution. This display is said to offer great viewing angles and with a 312 ppi density, its worth to watch out for.
LG Optimus 4X HD smartphone’s display is expected to be a major feature of this phone but that is not all. The phone has almost all the features you can find in top end smartphones in the market today. The display also comes with Corning’s Gorilla Glass for strength and and resistance to scratches and accidental falls. It has a 16 GB on chip memory storage and a memory card slot expandable upto 32 GB. Weighing only 133 grams and with thickness of just 8.9mm, it also sports an 8 MP camera with LED flash as well as auto focus that is capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30 fps. A 1.3 MP secondary camera at the front makes it equally good choice for video calling and chatting.
LG optimus L5 is a mid range phone aimed at upper middle class. It has a 4.0 inch touchscreen display and a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The display is disappointing and depending on the price there may be better choices available in the market. Running Optimus 3.0 UI and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it has a 800 MHz Cortex A5 based Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7255A mobile processor. With 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of in built memory, phone is more than decent on memory front. It also sports a more than useful 5 Mega Pixel camera but LG cameras are not much known for its quality.
LG Optimus 4X HD is a high end smartphone and is expected to cost around just over 30k and if LG are able to lower the price further provided the camera is top notch too, the phone with its super features and already some good reviews can be expected to do very well in the market. LG optimus L5 is not meant for high end users and is expected to have a price tag of 15k. Its display may hold the key to how success it can be in already competitive Indian smartphone market.
